Tips are customary in Tanzania and are not included in our prices. They are a way to thank the people who made your trip: your driver-guide, the camp or lodge staff, and, on Kilimanjaro, the guides, porters and cook.
On safari
- Your driver-guide, usually at the end of the trip
- Camp and lodge staff, through a tip box or a single gratuity at the end of your stay
On Kilimanjaro
Guides, porters and the cook are normally tipped at the end of the climb, as a group, on the last evening on the mountain. We explain how it works at your briefing.
How much?
Amounts depend on the size of your group and the length of the trip. Your consultant gives you current suggested amounts before you travel. Tip in cash, in US dollars or Tanzanian shillings.
