Most visitors need a visa to enter Tanzania. This is a general guide, so please check the current rules with the official Tanzanian immigration website before you travel.
Before you travel
- Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date you leave Tanzania.
- You can apply for a visa online through the official immigration e-visa system, or, for many nationalities, get one on arrival.
- Have your return or onward ticket and your accommodation details ready.
Validity
A standard tourist visa is normally valid for three months and allows multiple entries from neighbouring Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
Fees
Fees depend on your nationality and change from time to time. Visa and passport fees are not included in our prices.
Health requirements
A yellow fever certificate is required if you arrive from a country with a risk of yellow fever. Ask your doctor or travel clinic about other vaccinations and malaria prevention.
